Simple and fun shape tracing worksheets for preschool and kindergarten!
By the end of kindergarten, children should be able to identify basic shapes regardless of their size or orientation in space.
This can be tricky for some students as some shapes can look many different ways (like triangles for instance).
But plenty of practice with shapes will help kids with shape recognition.

Tracing shapes worksheets for preschool and kindergarten
You’ll find a total of 14 pages in this printable pdf.
Children will trace basic shapes such as circles and squares to more complex ones like pentagons and trapezoids!
Choose the pages you find appropriate to your child’s skills at the moment and save the rest for later.
If your child is in kindergarten, then they should be able to recognize all of the two-dimensional shapes included.
Make the learning more challenging by asking about the shapes attributes, comparison in size, real-life examples, and more.
In some cases, such as triangles or rectangles, the shapes can have different looks and are rotated. This will help children to understand that regardless of size or position, the shapes keep their basic attributes.
And of course, children will practice their pre-writing skills with tracing.
