What is ascending order in math?

Let’s talk about the basics first.

In math, you can arrange numbers in ascending and descending order.

Ascending order means that numbers grow from the smallest to the biggest. For example, arranging numbers 5, 1, 8, and 7 in ascending order means to arrange them this way – 1, 5, 7, and 8.

And now that we understand the proper terminology, let’s move on to the free worksheets I created for kids to practice this math skill.

The first set of worksheets is focused on ordering numbers 1 to 10 from the smallest to the biggest number.

You will find two pages for numbers 1 to 10 and these worksheets will work well with your kindergarten students.

For older kids, especially first graders, you can use the next few pages. They will order numbers all the way to 100.
