You can use these pages as subtraction within 20 worksheets. Or you can cut out the cards and use fasteners for more hands-on learning. In either case, children will practice subtraction within 20 with regrouping and without regrouping, depending on their math level.
Subtraction within 20 using a number line
Each card contains a subtraction problem together with a number line to 20. Children can use the number line to find the difference.
Once they have learned their facts within 20, they will no longer need the number line.
There are two ways you can use this subtraction printable.
Place them in sheet protectors and have the kids use dry-erase markers to write the answers. Like in the picture below:
Or laminate the pages and cut out the cards. Then use hook and loop fasteners with the answer cards and let children attach the answers. This is a more hands-on approach and some children might like it better.
