# Making 10 Worksheets

Grab this set of free printable worksheets for teaching your kids or students how to make 10!

They will color dots and add them together to make the number 10. You can also use some hands-on counters like counting bears or cubes to build the number ten in different ways.

For younger students, you might want to try a similar printable for making number 5 first.

## Ways to make 10 worksheets

By decomposing the number 10 into two parts, children strengthen their number sense and prepare for larger numbers addition.

You can help your child by asking questions like “How many more do you need to add to make 10?” or “If you have 3, how many more to ten?”.

By coloring and drawing their answers, children can better explain their reasoning and slowly move from pictorial to mathematical expressions.

## Make 10 worksheet

You will find a total of four pages in this printable PDF.

On the first page, children are free to experiment with coloring and make 10 any way they want. They will then write their answers.

The next two pages include one specific addend and the sum. Children will need to find the missing addend by coloring the dots correctly. This is a great way to practice different ways of making 10.

The last page lets your math learners draw two groups of objects to make the number ten. Instead of drawing, they can use counters or even building bricks (see the picture).

Children will color the dots and write the addition sentences as needed. They will look for missing addends and learn that there are several different ways to make the same number 10.

They will also draw or build number ten with objects which is a good beginner activity.

This is a great way to introduce addition before moving on to more difficult math problems.
